About the Office of International Programs

Mission & goals

The Office of International Programs (OIP) provides opportunities and resources which foster global awareness and intercultural development. We are committed to celebrating diversity in an increasingly complex and interconnected world. To achieve this mission, our team will:  

  • advocate for equitable access to global experiences 
  • develop impactful education abroad programming which includes overseas study, internships, service learning, and research 
  • support students through extensive advising and Ongoing Orientation  
  • offer comprehensive international student services 
  • collaborate with faculty and staff to support students' curricular and co-curricular goals 
  • connect faculty and staff with professional development opportunities overseas

Amy Lancaster

Amy Lancaster joined the Office of International Programs in 2004. She holds an MA from Middlebury College and a BA from Wofford College, both in Spanish. She has studied in Havana, Cuba, La Plata, Argentina and Madrid, Spain. In addition to her responsibilities within the Office of International Programs, she and has held a variety of roles at Wofford including Title IX Deputy Coordinator, Coordinator of the Interim, Lecturer in Spanish, and coordinator of first year advising and registration. She has served as Dean of International Programs since 2015. She loves traveling, live music, cooking, and spending time with her twin nephews and three fur children.

Laura Braun joined Wofford in 2015 as the Assistant Dean for International Programs. Prior to working at Wofford, Laura worked at Clemson University and the University of Kentucky, both in Education Abroad offices. She holds an MS in Education from the University of Kentucky and a BA in Spanish from Furman University. Laura studied abroad in Madrid, Spain, Santiago, Chile, and Havana, Cuba as an undergraduate. In her free time, Laura enjoys traveling, cooking, hiking, and spending time with her family.

Sara Milani

International Programs Adviser

Sara Milani joined Wofford in 2008 as a Study Abroad Adviser and the International Student Adviser. She has over 20 years of experience advising for international education. Prior to joining Wofford, Sara worked at Clemson University, Meredith College, and IES Abroad.  She holds an MA in International Studies from NC State University, a BA in English and History from Wake Forest University, and a certification in Intercultural training from the Intercultural Communication Institute. She has studied and worked abroad in Austria, Germany, and England as well as visited many program sites abroad. 

Bence E. Bays 
Study Abroad Advisor

Bence Bays joined Wofford in 2018 as a Study Abroad Advisor. Prior to working at Wofford, Bence worked at Emory & Henry College in study abroad and international student support. She holds an MS in Counseling and Human Development from Radford University and a BA in Mathematics and Psychology from Brevard College. She has spent time abroad in Sweden and the Netherlands. In her free time, Bence enjoys traveling, cooking, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with her two fur children.
