In the news release, Leigh was praised for his “unmatched passion and enthusiasm for serving Huntingdon students” and as a gifted administrator who “understands the internal operations of the college and effectively communicates the mission of the college to external constituencies.” Leigh has served on the president’s cabinet for 15 years.
In an interview during 2023 with Wofford Today, Leigh discussed his Wofford experience as a platform for his current career in higher education.
“Wofford was my north star. When I started working in higher education, everything I knew was from being a student at Wofford,” he says. “When I was president of the student body, I looked at everything through the lens of a student. Now I have other lenses, but that experience as a student leader still helps me keep an eye on the needs of our students.”
