The Presidential International Scholar is selected by the president of Wofford College as a student with exceptional potential to benefit humankind as evidenced by a demonstrated passion for service learning combined with a globally minded intellectual curiosity.



Meet Tianna Kidd ’25

Tianna Kidd ’25, a biology and French double major with a minor in physics from Greenwood, South Carolina, was selected as the 2024-25 Presidential International Scholar.


Meet Josh Lipscomb ’24

Josh Lipscomb ’24, a philosophy and Spanish double major from Travelers Rest, South Carolina, studied the impacts of tourism in Spain, Mexico and Peru as Wofford’s 2023-24 Presidential International Scholar.


Meet Paola Cruz ’23

Paola Cruz ’23, a double major in sociology and anthropology and Spanish from Charlotte, North Carolina, used her 2022-23 Presidential International Scholar experience to study personal storytelling in Argentina and Honduras, where her father is from.

Hector Ortiz ’22, a triple major from Saluda, South Carolina, studying biology, philosophy and Spanish, spent his time as the 2021-22 Presidential International Scholar studying in public health in Ecuador and Kenya.
