Application Deadlines

Transfer application deadlines depend upon the desired semester students plan to begin classes at Wofford.

Fall Semester
Admission Notification Decision Deadline
2 weeks after all materials are submitted June 1
*If admissible, you have until June 1 to make a decision about where you will enroll and submit your nonrefundable $500 enrollment deposit to be guaranteed a space in a residence hall.
Spring Semester
Admission Notification Decision Deadline
2 weeks after all materials are submitted December 1

Required for Admission

  • Common Application (including the Wofford College member page)
  • College Official’s Report for all institutions attended.
  • Official college transcripts from all institutions attended.
  • OPTIONAL: Official SAT or ACT scores. To learn more about our test optional policy, visit our Test Optional page.
  • Final high school transcript

Application Evaluation

  • GPA: both high school and college
  • Emphasis will be placed on core classes (math, science, history, English and foreign language)
  • Course selection: both high school and college
  • Activities: both high school and college
  • Essay
  • SAT/ACT scores (If submitted)

Scholarship and financial aid consideration:

  • If accepted, students are considered for merit-based aid.
  • Transfer students who are members in Phi Theta Kappa are awarded a $10,000 minimum scholarship per year of study at Wofford.
  • Competitive applicants earn a 3.5 cumulative GPA from a two-year college or a 3.0 cumulative GPA from a four-year college.
  • Add Wofford (school code 003457) to your FAFSA institution list to be considered for federal, state, and institutional aid.
  • If a Palmetto Fellow recipient in South Carolina, contact the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education to complete a transfer form.

Required for transfer credit consideration and scheduling courses:

  • Final official transcripts from all institutions attended (no snapshots of transcript or unofficial transcripts)
  • Advanced Placement and/or International Baccalaureate score reports, if applicable
  • Final official transcript from institution where dual enrollment was taken, if applicable
