MSS WFC
.6 cubic feet, in 2 boxes
History note: The Faculty Club was organized in 1944 by members of the Wofford Faculty in response to a feeling that the intellectual, professional, and social life of the faculty might be enhanced through such an organization. The club met monthly, collaborating with the Campus Club, the campus women’s organization, on certain projects. The club’s membership was open to members of the faculty as well as administrators. The club never had a building or a house as existed at some universities.
Organization note: Arranged into: Programs, Clippings, Membership rosters, correspondence, directories, and memos/documents.
Access note: Unrestricted
Summary note: The records document the various activities of the faculty club in the years 1944-1977. The membership rosters indicate which faculty members were participants in the club. Programs document the types of events that the club sponsored. The memos/documents series is the largest, and it contains most of the correspondence between the club officers and the members, including announcements of events, invitations to programs, and other communications.
