Lifelong Learning

Lifelong Learning at Wofford began in 2015 as an initiative started by Charlie Gray to expand the college’s commitment to fostering lifelong learning to the greater Spartanburg community. Located in downtown Spartanburg, Lifelong Learning at Wofford offers eight- and four-week terms that include interactive courses and one-time workshops or events year-round. Local experts and current and retired area college faculty teach a wide range of topics, including history, religion, literature, science, cooking, writing, pop culture, physical fitness and current events.

We welcome adults of all ages to participate in our offerings. Lifelong Learning at Wofford is fortunate to have access to Central United Methodist Church, located a few blocks south of Wofford, which has a long-standing relationship with the college. Most classes are held at CUMC, giving members plenty of space to interact with participants and instructors. Parking also is available, which makes getting to class easy.

Members of Lifelong Learning at Wofford enjoy many benefits beyond access to dozens of very affordable classes throughout the year. Members also receive invitations and special pricing on Wofford cultural and sporting events, access to the campus dining halls and library, weekly emails and term newsletters, along with the innumerable ways to meet and interact with other energetic and enthusiastic lifelong learners.
