Hall of Fame Committee of the Wofford College Terrier Club Board of Directors selected graduated student-athletes Anthony Jones '03, Nick Schuermann '10 and Brandon Waring '08/’15 as the 2015 inductees into the college's Athletics Hall of Fame.

Jones was an All-American in football, Schuermann was an All-American in men's soccer, while Waring was an All-American in baseball.

In addition, the Hall of Fame honors Wade and Mary Keisler as the Distinguished Service Award recipients and Todd Shanesy as Honorary Letterman.

Anthony Jones ’03

Jones was a standout on the defensive line at Wofford and holds career records in tackles for loss with 66 and career sacks with 30 and a half. He was named first team All-Southern Conference in 2002 by the media and coaches, along with second team Associated Press All-America honors in 2002. As a senior, he played in all 12 games with 58 tackles. He led the team with 28 tackles for loss of 98 yards, which is a college record, and had 15 and a half sacks for a loss of 78 yards, which ranks second in college history in a single season. During his junior season, he led the team with 20 tackles for loss and also had the team lead with nine sacks. As a sophomore, he recorded 12 tackles for loss and five sacks despite missing two games. He played as a true freshman and had six tackles for loss among his 29 total tackles. Jones is a native of Lexington, Ken.

Nick Schuermann ’10

As a senior in 2009, Schuermann was named a third team All-America selection as he scored five goals for 10 points with two game-winning goals. As a defender, he helped lead the Terriers to the 2009 SoCon Regular Season and Tournament Championships and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament. He was a key part of a defense that allowed 0.95 goals against in 2009. He is one of only nine players in Wofford history to score a hat trick and only the third during the Division I Era. Schuermann's hat trick vs. Furman on Nov. 3, 2009 secured Wofford's regular season championship. He was named to the All-Southern Conference, NSCAA All- South and Scholar All-South First Teams in 2009. He also earned CoSIDA Academic All-District Second Team honors in 2008 and 2009. A biology major from Fort Mill, S.C., he started all 65 career matches played.

Brandon Waring ’15/’08

In 2007 Waring led the team to the Southern Conference Championship and the NCAA Tournament. He was named a semifinalist for the Brooks Wallace Award (top college player), along with ABCA/Rawlings first team All-American and Baseball America second team All-America honors. Named the 2007 Southern Conference Tournament MVP, he received first team All-Southern Conference honors at third base. In addition, he was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District second team. Waring holds college records for games played in a season (63), hits in a season (89), runs scored in a season (73), single-season home runs (27), and total bases in a season (189), plus he is ranked second in RBIs in a season (74). Among career leaders, Waring is seventh in career RBIs, sixth in career home runs, 11th in career total bases, and seventh in career slugging percentage. A native of West Columbia, S.C., he left Wofford after his junior year (2007) because the Cincinnati Reds drafted him in the seventh round of the MLB Draft. After an eight-year career in the minor leagues, reaching the AAA level, he returned to Wofford and finished his degree in 2015.

Todd Shanesy, Honorary Letterman 

Todd Shanesy is an award-winning sports writer who has twice been honored nationally by the Associated Press and more than two dozen times by the South Carolina Press Association. He is a native of Troy, Ohio, and graduated from Marshall University in 1987 with a degree in journalism. Shanesy is a former sports editor of the Florence (S.C.) Morning News and has been with the Spartanburg Herald-Journal since 1991. He has traveled the nation to cover Wofford College athletics, with his stories bringing games to life for readers around the world.

Wade and Mary Keisler, Distinguished Service Award

The Keislers have played a key role in the success of Wofford athletics through financial support and spearheading growth of the Terrier Ball. Wade was a driving force behind the creation of the Goal Line Club, while Mary has devoted her expertise in philanthropy to the Terrier Ball Auction. Residents of Lexington, S.C., Mary is a practicing veterinarian and Wade '80 is a real estate developer. They have also established the Keisler Family Endowed Scholarship Fund.
