The Princeton Review has again named Wofford College one of the top undergraduate institutions in the nation.

The publication, which on Aug. 27 released its 2025 list of The Best 390 Colleges, cited a multitude of factors that make Wofford stand out, including:

  • Individualized education and personal attention.
  • Opportunities to network with influential people.
  • An outstanding study abroad program.
  • A family atmosphere and close-knit community.

The Best 390 Colleges rankings are unique in that they’re based entirely on surveys of students attending the schools.

“It’s important that students are engaged and supported,” says Dr. Nayef Samhat, Wofford’s 11th president. “Making this list again is another validation that we’re delivering the type of superior educational experience that students and families expect.”

This week, Wofford also was named to the 2024–25 Forbes Top Colleges List. Forbes ranked Wofford No. 43 among the nation’s liberal arts institutions and 190 out of the 500 Top Colleges.

Two months ago, The Princeton Review named Wofford one of the Best Value Colleges for 2024, a list that includes 209 institutions.

National publications — including the New York Times and U.S. News & World Report — routinely recognize Wofford for its academic excellence and value. Ninety-nine percent of students receive some form of financial assistance to attend Wofford, and 98% report positive career outcomes within six months of graduation.

Also in this year’s Princeton rankings, Wofford was No. 2 in the Lots of Greek Life category. The college’s Old Gold and Black student newspaper is No. 14 in the Best College Newspaper category.
