Wofford College prepares students for meaningful lives as citizens, leaders and scholars. That means providing students with opportunities to learn about the world, practice their leadership skills and develop a lifelong passion for education and personal growth. Study abroad does all of that, which is one reason that we place so much emphasis on global learning — on campus and around the world.
This issue of Wofford Today celebrates Wofford’s continued ranking among the nation’s leaders in study abroad participation. It celebrates those who are studying abroad in Milan as part of the college’s first cohort-based semester abroad program and those who chose to step out of their comfort zones and experience living and learning in a new place. It celebrates the impact of Interim and the staff in the Office of International Programs, whose work behind the scenes prepares our students for these experiences.
The spring Wofford Today also features our women’s volleyball seniors and their history- making year, including a story about some of the challenges they overcame on the way to the college’s first women’s Southern Conference tournament championship. They started their season with a team trip to Greece, which, again, speaks volumes for our commitment to ensure that all students have access to all that Wofford has to offer.
Wofford’s mission and the liberal arts educational experience inside and outside the classroom is important to the future of our society. And opportunities to study abroad are vitally important to our mission and that experience. We value your support!
