This artificial collection consists of a small number of pamphlets and documents relating to the early history of Methodism in Charleston, SC. Among the materials are documents surrounding the founding of the Cumberland Street Church, the first Methodist congregation in Charleston, some documents from a women's benevolent organization, and published copies of a report dealing with a conflict in the church community. The collection also includes some published church histories and some printed district conference annuals and minutes.
