Basketball
Starting in early February, basketball is another highly competitive sport with great participation from students. Basketball offers a competitive men's league, a "Good-Times" men's league, and a women's league. The clock runs continuously only stopping for dead balls inside of a minute in the second half of each game.
Basketball Rules
- Games are two 20-minute halves running clock
- The clock only stops if a Technical foul occurs, during a time out, or if a dead ball occurs when the clock is under the 20-second mark
- Team fouls will be kept - After the 7th team foul it will be a 1 and 1 situation and on the 10th team foul it will be a 2 shot foul
- To substitute players you must wait at the scorer's table until signaled to enter game
- Each team will have 1 time out per half
- Overtime will be 2 minutes - One additional time out will be given

- A flagrant foul will result in a technical foul and an ejection
- A technical foul will result in 2 free throws and the ball
- Call every obvious foul
- Protect the shooter
- Don’t permit rebounders to go over the back
- Balance the court: half-court/baseline and/or one on each sideline
- Get up and down the court with the flow of play. Don’t become a statue in one place or you will always be out of position
- You can only demand respect by giving respect and a hustling effort
- A 1&1 will be awarded after the 7th foul
- Two shots will be awarded after the 10th foul
- A student director will always be on the timer/scoreboard and will keep track of team fouls
