Estimated New Member Dues
Kappa Alpha Order | $1,400 |
Kappa Sigma | $1,000 |
Pi Kappa Alpha | $950 |
Sigma Alpha Epsilon | $1,000 |
Sigma Nu | $900 |
Is there a minimum GPA I need to participate in Recruitment?
To participate in Recruitment, students must be "in good standing" with the College. You must have at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA and not be on academic probation or exclusion. Each organization then has minimum GPA requirements based on their national standards. Some organizations are able to make exceptions to their requirements, but these are guidelines to keep in mind as you're preparing for recruitment.
Chapter GPA Requirements
Kappa Alpha Order | 2.5 |
Kappa Sigma | 2.5 |
Pi Kappa Alpha | 2.5 |
Sigma Alpha Epsilon | 2.5 |
Sigma Nu | 2.5 |
Are there scholarships for dues?
All of our organizations offer payment plans for dues. Some also offer emergency financial assistance if there are changes to financial need/etc. There are some scholarship available at the national level from organizations and their governing bodies, but these are limited and typically go to upperclassmen in leadership positions across the country. It is important to note that we have a significant portion of our fraternity community who are working to pay for their own dues. Please talk with members during the recruitment process about how this works within the individual organization.
What do I wear to Formal Recruitment events?
Most PNMs wear khakis, a button down, and blazer. This is not a requirement and PNMs should wear what they feel best represents themselves in the process. If you have demonstrated financial need and would like help acquiring any clothing items for the recruitment process, please reach out to Dean Owen.
What if I can't attend one of the events?
Once you've registered, let IFC know which event you have to miss. They will communicate with the organizations. However, if at all possible, we ask you to be in attendance for all rounds.
If you have any additional questions about recruitment or the fraternity membership experience, contact the IFC VP of Recruitment, Worth Crichton, or Karlee Tate, Director of Fraternity & Sorority Life.
