Workday makes it easy for faculty to view and manage their personal information, manage staff and student workers and manage grants.

New Faculty

Workday will be Wofford College’s system of record. Phase 1 includes human resources, payroll and finance. Phase 2 will include student records and financial aid – no launch date has been announced yet.

Employee Self-Service

Faculty can manage their personal information within Workday, such as update emergency contacts and view tax information.

Additionally, Workday can be utilized as an employee directory, when needing to find contact information for other staff, faculty, adjuncts and student workers.

Compensation and Payroll

Faculty can view their salary and any additional compensation, update direct deposit payment elections and update W-4 information.

Benefits

Eligible faculty can view benefit information for themselves and eligible dependents, as well as update beneficiaries. Faculty can add or change benefits for themselves or eligible dependents due to a life event such as marriage, divorce, birth or adoption.

Time Tracking and Absence

  • Faculty will not need to enter a timesheet in Workday.
  • Faculty will only need to enter absence requests for time off, such as bereavement, jury duty, voting and can also request medical and unpaid leave.
  • Faculty who manage staff will approve timesheets and staff absence requests.
  • Faculty who manage students can approve student timesheets bi-weekly.

* You will be able to approve timesheets through both the web and Workday app.

Recruiting and Employment

All recruiting activities, including job postings, applications, background checks, hiring and onboarding, take place in Workday. Faculty who are also managers can recruit and hire new adjuncts, tenure-track faculty, staff or student workers.

  • Workday can parse an applicant’s résumé, saving time entering data.
  • Managers can review candidates and move desired candidates forward.

Academic

Faculty will have the capability to access detailed academic information that spans beyond just their current appointments and contracts. This now includes comprehensive insights into their employment track, along with details pertaining to tenure and promotion processes. Additionally, Workday Student will change how faculty interact with administrative tasks by replacing all functions currently performed in BannerWeb. This encompasses grade submissions, class roster management, course override requests and advising activities. Accessible through both web and the Workday app, this change is poised to fundamentally transform how faculty engage with every aspect of academic data.

Grants

Faculty who manage grants can view their grant financials, including budgets and expenditures.
