Beta Beta Beta (TriBeta) is a society for students dedicated to improving the understanding and appreciation of biological study and extending boundaries of human knowledge through scientific research. It was founded in 1922 and has more than 175,000 lifetime members and 430 chapters. Within the Wofford Beta Beta Beta organization, there are three committees – social, service and environmental. Students organize and campus events related to the biological fields. The goals of the chapter are to foster relationships between students, professors and local health professionals and to correlate events for the department to parallel with community service awareness. Dr. Stefanie Baker is the chapter sponsor. Meetings are once a month. Events hosted in the past include booths at Terrier Play Day and Halloween Carnival, Heart Walk, Trash Pickup for Adopt a Highway, Healthcare Professional Tailgate, Berry Picking and Alternative Energy Car Show. The initiation costs are $30 for associate members and $40 for regular members, and there is a $10 yearly fee for all members.
