  • Two-year scholarships that cover the full cost of study at Cambridge University for a single person; this includes all approved university and college tuition fees, a maintenance allowance for a single student, a further discretionary contribution toward costs of supporting dependents at Cambridge and one return economy airfare between the United Kingdom and the scholar’s country of residence.
  • Eligibility: An applicant must be a citizen of any country other than the United Kingdom, at least 18 years old and unmarried and must be admitted through Cambridge University's usual academic procedures.
  • Qualifications: Proven intellectual ability, leadership capacity and desire to use their knowledge to contribute to society throughout the world by providing service to their communities and applying their talents and knowledge to improve the lives of others.

  • Two-year scholarships to any university of the recipient's choice. The value of the scholarship is $24,000 per year.
  • Qualifications: Outstanding seniors without teaching experience who intend to become secondary school teachers of American history, American government or social studies in grades 7-12.

  • Two-year scholarships to a British university. The total value of the scholarship varies,but averages about £20,000 ;per year.
  • Qualifications: Seniors with a 3.7 GPA on courses after the first year.

  • One-year scholarships to institutions of higher learning in the Republic of Ireland and in Northern Ireland. The universities provide room and board. In addition, each scholar receives a stipend of $11,000. The scholar also receives financial assistance for travel expenses.
  • Qualifications: Seniors with a record of intellectual distinction, leadership, integrity and service.

  • Three-year fellowships for graduate study in STEM fields, providing awardees $34,000 annually as well as additional benefits.
  • Eligibility: Applicant must intend to pursue a research-based master’s or Ph.D. program in a GRFP-supported field and be enrolled in an eligible program at an accredited United States graduate institution, with a U.S. campus, by the upcoming fall. Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national or permanent resident.
  • Qualifications: Demonstrate potential for significant research achievements in STEM or STEM education.
  • Deadline: Late October/early November each year, determined by discipline.

  • Two-year scholarships to the University of Oxford, which pay all fees and annual maintenance allowances.
  • Eligibility: An applicant must be a United States citizen, unmarried, at least 18 years old and not more than 24 years of age on Oct. 1 of year of application and a senior (or graduate).
  • Qualifications: Proven intellectual and academic achievement of high standard, integrity of character, interest in and respect for one’s fellow man, the ability to lead and the energy to make full use of one’s talents as exemplified by fondness for and success in sports.

  • Qualifications: Sophomores, juniors or seniors who are proficient in a foreign language and are strong students. Scholarships for English-speaking sites are extremely competitive.

  • One-year scholarships of up to $5,000 for research projects abroad.
  • Qualifications: Outstanding SIT study abroad alumni in any fields; preference is given to alumni who studied on an SIT program in the last five years.
  • Deadline: Applicants must consult the contact at Wofford in the fall of their senior year concerning the application process. Applications will be reviewed twice annually, on March 1 and Oct. 1. March applicants must plan to begin their project between June and December of the same year. October applicants must begin their project between January and May of the following year.

  • Qualifications: Outstanding juniors and seniors in any field. Applicants must be green card holders, naturalized citizens or children of two naturalized citizens. The purpose of the Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans is to provide opportunities for continuing generations of able and accomplished new Americans to achieve leadership in their chosen fields.

  • Scholarships for up to $30,000 available. Scholars are eligible for $3,000 for senior year and up to $13,500 for one or two years of graduate school. Scholars must be United States citizens.
  • To be eligible, applicants must:
    • Possess intellectual strength, communication skills and analytical abilities.
    • Be committed to a career in government or elsewhere in the public sector.
    • Have an extensive record of public and community service; those selected are required to work in public service.
  • Qualifications: Junior standing and in upper fourth of class.
  • Deadline: Applicants must indicate interest to the contact at Wofford in September. Interviews will be scheduled in early October. Interested students interview for the nomination from Wofford. Deadline for all materials is early February.
