You should refer any news media to OMC – woffordnews@wofford.edu – before answering any questions, agreeing to an interview or being interviewed. If the reporter has left you a voicemail or sent an email, forward that to woffordnews@wofford.edu. News Services staff will contact the reporter to vet what they are interested in, whether you or someone else is the appropriate person to interview, and what the focus and time deadline are for the interview. We will facilitate the interview, coordinating with you and the reporter regarding the time and location (via phone or in person). If you are cleared to do the interview – and you wish to do it – News Services staff will be happy to help prepare you for your interview, going over potential questions/responses and working with you on doing an interview if you’re nervous about it. Wofford faculty and staff may be interviewed – with News Services approval – regarding their areas of expertise. Only the senior director of public relations and communications and the vice president for marketing and communications may speak on behalf of the college regarding college policy, positions, etc.
