Faculty Learning Community Request for Proposals
Each year, the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning will sponsor one or two faculty learning communities. These communities of pedagogical inquiry are faculty-led and explore a topic central to the practice of teaching and student learning - either in terms of classroom-based or curriculum-based practices. Proposals for these groups will be accepted and reviewed each February for the following academic year. Proposals should include the following information:
Description of Project:
- Briefly describe the project, including a rationale for the need. How will this project better its members? How will it help Wofford? How will it contribute to the scholarship of teaching and learning?
Audience/Group Make Up:
- Who will be invited to participate? How was this decision made?
Outcomes:
- What are the intended outcomes for the group? Some of these may not be known until the group begins, but a rationale for the group will help.
Assessment:
- How will this group assess its project? What measures will be/could be used?
Dissemination:
- How will what is learned be shared with the Wofford community and the academic community at-large?
Budget:
- The budget for these projects should fall into the $1,000-$2,000 range unless a rationale can be made for a larger budget. The CETL reserves the right to fund projects partially if the budget exceeds the prescribed amount.
