Perry Henson
Director of Counseling and Accessibility Services
Perry Henson is the director of counseling and accessibility services. She is a 1996 graduate of Wofford and holds an Ed.S. degree in marriage and family therapy. She has over 25 years of clinical experience working with children, adolescents and young adults in counseling. Before joining the Wofford Wellness Center staff in 2011, she worked in community mental health, which allowed her to be a mentor to Wofford psychology majors and a visiting lecturer in the clinical psychology course, as well as become an advocate for disability rights. Henson’s clinical orientation involves family systems and person-centered theories. She is a mindfulness and meditation instructor and also is trained in brainspotting, an evidence-based treatment for emotional/body pain, trauma and other challenging symptoms.
